Discovery Owners Free Overlay POI Website Gets A Makeover

    cginfolinksold

Is there anyone left that doesn’t already know about the all the great points of interest files (aka Map Overlay files) available from the folks at DiscoveryOwners.com?

Well, they’ve been busy this fall working on a better way to access these files.   You will definitely want to bookmark these pages as you will want to return regularly to check for updates.

    No more horizontal scrolling! :-)

    1. Visit the new Points Of Interest Download List here (or click on the image below).

    2. Use the new dropdown menu to choose your software product or Text files (recommended for 2010 users)

    3.  Download the new or updated POI collection (a zip file) and unzip it.

This is a huge improvement and makes accessing these collections much easier!

    Hi Bob&Sami,

The text files are still there. Use the dropdown to select "Text Only" - the are disguised as .zip files but when you unzip them you'll see they are .txt or .csv files. They will love to have your new data and updates. Thanks in advance for your contributions!

Did Discovery drop the .txt and/or .csv raw data files? If they did I wished they'd put them back on their web site. Many of these file POI's aren't that accurate. I've always edited the .txt and/or .csv files with dead accurate locations and then once I've accomplished updated the files I send the new data to discovery.com for distribution.
